But visiting places in the area can help to improve your quality of life, engage with the community and connect with the environment. From beaches, boat launches and parks, there are an abundance of outdoor and recreational activities for the entire family to enjoy. Here?s a list of several of the parks and outdoor recreational places near the community of Meadow Valley of Troy that you should check out. Anderson Park ? This neighborhood park was created in 1999 and is located at River Ridge Road and Mount Croix Drive. The picnic table and benches provide a great place to enjoy a nice meal and beverage. There?s also a playground area with swings, tennis courts and a full-size basketball court. Birkmose Park ? This beautiful park provides picturesque views that overlook the St. Croix Valley and River. Birkmose Park includes several Indian Burial Mounds. Please note, alcohol, fires and picnics are not allowed at this park. Brown?s Beach ? Brown?s Beach is a half-acre swimming beach that is located on the St. Croix River. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months. Corky?s Pier (Lake Mallalieu) ? Launch your boat off Lake Mallalieu?s public ramp. Please note that parking is limited and the lake doesn?t connect to the St. Croix River. Glen Hills Park ? This is a 700-acre park that surrounds the 78-acre Glen Lake. Glen Hills Park has 61 campsites that include a shower building and dumping station, boat landing, hiking trails, modern playgrounds, picnic area, scenic overlook, sports area and swimming beach. Park patrons can fish and also rent boats or canoes to take out on the lake. Glenn Hills Park?s camping season goes from May 1 until October 31. During the winter you can go ice fishing and skating on the lake, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. To prevent any sort of injury, it’s important that you have all of the relevant safety gear before taking part in any of these winter activities. Admission is required. Prospect Park ? This is Hudson?s oldest park where you will find gardens, two picnic pavilions that are available for rent, two playground areas, a sand volleyball court and a scenic overlook of the city of Hudson and the St. Croix River. Willow River State Park ? This park is a year-round recreational and scenic attraction. Willow River State Park offers activities from people of all ages. It includes 3,000 acres of forests, prairie, and panoramic river scenery. There is a boat launch, campground and a 400-foot beach and picnic area Weitkamp Park ? Come out to the sledding hill in the winter. Weitkamp Park also includes picnic pavilions available for rent. However, there are many benefits to visiting Weitkamp Park though. The large pavilion has restrooms and the small pavilion includes picnic tables, playground equipment and a barbecue grill. Wildwood Trail ? Bicyclists, hikers and joggers will enjoy this trail during the spring, summer or fall months while winters are perfect for sledding down the Vine Street Square hill or snowmobiling.
